Fire House Banquet
La Porte 1904

This photo shows the Dreadnaught Hose Company Number 5, at a banquet in 1904. At the head of the table is Judge Richter, and to his right, Frank King, a well-known contractor. The party was given by Mr. King before the election of that year. other known members of the group are Adolph Zeese, standing in the black vest, and his brother Butch Zeese, sitting in front of the table, third from right. On the wall appears a list of fire call box locations around the city of La Porte, and to the right a framed composite of portraits of the individual firemen. The popularity of the walrus moustache, especially for firemen, seemed to be especially strong with this group, with about half of the men present sporting one!
