Weller’s Grove Group Photo

This photo shows children at Weller’s Grove on the edge of Stone Lake in La Porte. This was a summer “Chautauqua” style resort of the Swedenborgian Church, on property first owned by Rev. Henry Weller. Tents and cottages filled the grove, with a pavilion in the center where lectures, concerts, dances, and dramatic presentations were held.
