Welcome to our new website and web address: www.laportecountyhistory.org. New Museum building now open to the public. Museum hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 - 4:30.

The photos below were taken at a memorial service for the victims of Belle Gunness, held in 2008. Through the contributions of many individuals, headstones for several of her vicitms were placed on their graves for the first time in a century. A motorcade went to the two cemeteries for the memorial services, followed by a luncheon at the museum. Descendants of the vicitms attended the event from all over the country, and met each other to talk over this shared link in their families.
