The Steigley-Francis House

This photograph shows the Steigley-Francis House, which was located in
La Porte at 216 E. Main Street, now Lincoln Way.  The house was probably
built prior to the Civil War, as the window and door trim shows details typical of the
Greek Revival style.  The large columns were made of solid yellow poplar tree logs.
The house was demolished, and the Falcons Club building is on the site today.
