2012 Calendars For Sale! The La Porte County Historical Society is again selling calendars for the coming year. The calendar for 2012 is for sale at the museum and is entitled, “Greetings from La Porte County” and features vintage postcards from the Historical Society’s extensive postcard collection. Holiday postcards as well as postcards showing scenes of small towns are all included. A Wanatah street scene is included as well as a “Sunset Over the Pond” postcard from Union Mills. Greetings were sent from Rolling Prairie, Mill Creek, Kingsbury, and Hudson Lake. Many humorous postcards were sent from Washington Park in Michigan City. Some postcards show bathing beauties from long ago, as well as Monkey Island monkeys having their say about the tourists. “Greetings from La Porte County” is a 13-month calendar and sells for just $10.00. It would make a very nice Christmas gift for anyone interested in La Porte County history, photos, and humor of the past. The calendars are available at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum during the hours of 10am-4:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday
